Jennifer Rice is a former inmate at The Dayton Correctional Institution, where she served five years for a violent crime. She was a domestic violence victim, leading to a substance use disorder. She wants to share her story to help other women possibly make better choices and understand that adverse childhood experiences impact their adult choices.
Dr. Misty Layne's presentation will show how anyone can end up in an abusive relationship, regardless of their social status. She will recount her journey of illegal drug use and how she was facing a forty-year sentence for Negligent homicides. She is now an empowerment and resiliency expert, helping others to find the confidence to STEP UP AND SPEAK OUT so that their story today can change a life tomorrow.
